The Real Deal
Hey there, Warriors! My photos might give you the impression that I live a rockstar life but most days, the only thing I'm rocking is a messy bun and not even the cute type. I'm a single mom to two amazing and adventurous boys who will talk your ears off if you let them. Did I mention I'm an introvert?
I am 100% Mexican-American and equal percent Wanderer. When poet Robert Frost talks about the path less traveled, that's me. I have never been known to take the easy route or to conspire with the status quo. At heart, I am a seeker. My curiosity to understand myself, others and the world around me is what defines me. I’m not afraid to ask the hard questions or show my vulnerability in saying, “I’m in my crucible moment”. I believe this level of vulnerability allows others to show up as they are. Life, itself, has been my best teacher. In other words, a lot of failing and learning through getting my butt kicked.
I had a pretty awesome childhood despite my two left feet. I've never gone a day without food nor shelter, have two healthy and happy boys and have always had a handful of people to call in my darkest hours. And there have been some pretty dark hours.
The hardest battles have been the ones I have had to fight within myself. Going on the inward journey required courage and a willingness to face my shadows head on. It is work but the transformation has been immensely gratifying. I couldn't do it without God, support from family, friends, mentors and coaches.
Warriors, we are in perilous times. We cannot conquer what we do not confront. If we want the world to experience more justice, we have to become more just. If we want more peace, we have to find peace within ourselves. If we want to love others, we must learn to love ourselves first. We cannot impart what we do not have.
My vision is to see women across the globe walking in their full power, purpose and authority. When we exhibit the boldness and confidence of knowing who we are, we have the capacity to serve our purpose and be the change we wish to see in this world. From that place, we can make create a ripple effect of positive changes that will impact the greater good for years to come.
I invite you to join me on this journey. We are powerful as individuals but we are life-changing together.
Love & Courage,
